Imperial Painting wants you to have the right finish for your project. Most paint comes in a variety of gloss levels. There are some rules to think about when choosing the right finish for each substrate. Durability, washability, desired look are among many other factors to think about when choosing the right finish. We have broken the gloss levels into five categories below, along with suggestions of where to use each of them.
Flat finishes are designed to provide a uniform appearance on substrates that will not be subjected to major wear and tear.
Great for: ceilings
Eggshell finishes are designed to provide a durable, uniform, low-sheen appearance on substrates in high traffic areas.
Great for: walls
Satin finishes are designed for increased durability, uniform finishes, as well as a subtle gloss that will make it stand out.
Great for: doors, trim, exterior surfaces
Semi-gloss finishes are designed for extreme durability, uniform finishes, and a glossy look that is unmistakable.
Great for: doors, trim, handrailings, metal surfaces, exterior surfaces and more
5. High Gloss:
High gloss finishes are designed for maximum durability and shine.
Great for: handrailings, metal surfaces, safety markings, commercial and industrial applications.
